If the 18 pulse rectifier is designed properly, it is the minimum pulse number rectifier that is in compatible with the international standards without any additional circuits. On the other hand, unbalanced line voltages and voltage harmonics produce non-characteristic harmonics and increase the total harmonic distortion and then the rectifier operates out of the standards. In this line conditions, interphase transformers used at the outputs of the rectifier are become more important. In this study, a method has been developed to determine the optimum value of IPT in different line conditions. Compatibility of the developed method was tested and compared with MATLAB/Simulink simulations and the experimental results of 30kW rectifier test rig.
