Biodiesel as an alternative diesel fuel is generally produced from animal or vegetable oils and it is also environment friendly fuel. In this study, biodiesel was produced from tall-oil which is the residual of paper plant and effects of the mixture of biodiesel with 80 % diesel fuel on a diesel engine performance and emission. Comparing with normal diesel fuel performance, no considerable changes were observed for the engine power output and torque, but specific fuel consumption was increased up to 8.55 % with the fuel mixture, because of calorific value of the mixture. But, CO and smoke values were determined to reduce by 13% and 30% respectively.
