N2  - Fundamental changes has been exprienced in every field in Turkey in the context of EU harmonisation process. The aim ofthe study is to introduce the new Euroclasses related with the external fire performance of roofs/roof coverings, and to displaythe new approaches developed in this subject. Within the scope of this purpose, classification of the roofs and roof coverings hasbeen examined by their external fire performances. The harmonization studies in Member States (EU) has been displayedregarding the transition from national classes to common Euroclasses. The authors have started this research by the reason ofrevising the By-Law on Fire Protection of Buildings. The results of this research will also be beneficial for national regulations tobe prepared regarding the external fire performance classes of roofs
