N2  - Hilmi Ziya is one of the multiple intellectual cultivated by Turks. He wrote some works as practice as well as the works theoretical by his aesthete side. We can see his pictures, roman and poems among these works.In this study, which aims to handle Hilmi Ziya’s this side, as well as his opinions about art, poesy and poet, his poesies based on epic which are created by a rewriting approach will be examined by the side of Hilmi Ziya’s approach to the epic. As a result, the dimension of Hilmi Ziya's poet identity was seen and the quality of his epic poems was discussed.
