N2  - The aim of this study is to examine the trends of agricultural and social change in agricultural enterprises whichare producing pistachio from the point of intergeneration view and to determine their tendency to abandonagriculture and to make suggestion for future. Main material of this research is consisting of primary dataobtained from 74 pistachio (Pistacia vera) producers in Gaziantep villages and primary data was obtained bymeans of face to face interview. The obtained data were evaluated with statistical methods (frequency, mean,Kruskall-Wallis etc.) and intergenerational analysis was made in order to reveal the changes of social andagricultural structure. This study has been dealt with structural- functional approach. Most important findingswere found to be as abundance of agriculture and tendency for non-agricultural working by young people (thirdgenerations) in the study. Future of pistachio production will be take shape as depend on education status of thirdgeneration and agricultural policy applied by the government. In terms of social structure, almost all sociodemographicindicators had significant positive changes from the first to third generations. When the productionof pistachio is taken into consideration in terms of region and country, policy implementations that will keepyoung people in agriculture, support the Pistachio production and provide the local development will be veryimportant.
