TY - JOUR TT - THE USE OF MULTILITERATION MODEL TO IMPROVE MATHEMATICAL CONNECTION ABILITY OF PRIMARY SCHOOL ON GEOMETRY AU - Abidin, Zaenal AU - Jupri, Al PY - 2017 DA - December DO - 10.18768/ijaedu.370429 JF - IJAEDU- International E-Journal of Advances in Education JO - IJAEDU PB - OCERINT International Organization Center of Academic Research WT - DergiPark SN - 2411-1821 SP - 603 EP - 610 VL - 3 IS - 9 KW - Multiliteration learning model KW - Mathematical connection KW - Conventional model KW - Geometry KW - Primary school student N2 - Thedata of Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) in 2015has shown that the primary students in Indonesia have the 6th lowest skill. This is occurred as the students havenot been facilitated by connection skill to improve their standard one.Mathematics learning activity can be used to improve the connection skill forit has a systematic and connection concepts affecting to their good attitudeand logical systematic and rational thinking. Therefore, teachers should beable to choose a learning model to improvemathematical connection skill of the students. One of which is by using Multiliteration learning model. Multiliteration learning model consists of four learning stagesincluding setup, explore, discuss, presenting . The researchaims to determine student’s mathematical connection skill between learningusing Multiliteration and conventionalmodel. This used a quasi-experimental research with non-equivalent controlgroup design. The research had been examined in Primary School. The material taken in the research is Geometry in Theme 7 Curriculum 2013. Basedon data processing of connection skill test, the average pretest results ofcontrol group is 28,3 and experimental group is 27,7. After receiving differenttreatment, the average posttest result of control group is 63,3 andexperimental group is 86,3. Improvement quality of student’s mathematicalconnection of experimental group is higher than control group, which is inmedium.  Thus, Multiliteration learning model can be used as one of the alternativelearning model to improve the student’s mathematical connection.
