N2  - This study has been carried out to determine the adaptation capabilities and effective heat summations (EHS) of Michele Palieri, Alphonse Lavelle and Red Globe grape varieties grown in Taraklı country region (Sakarya) in 2013 and 2014. Razakı grape cultivar has been included in the trial as some sort of control. The vines were trained as double high-cordon trellis systems. The plot was irrigated with drip irrigation. Cluster and berry characteristics, total soluble solid content, juice pH, titratable acidity and maturity index were determined for the assessment of fruit quality. EHS values were calculated as degree-day for different phenological periods. The highest yield, bunch and berry weight values were obtained from Red Globe. All grape cultivars reached the optimum harvesting maturity. Number of days varied from 97 (Razakı) to 109 (Red Globe) for the period from full flowering to harvest time. EHS for budbreak to maturity was determined 1478,8 degree-days in Razakı and 1522,4 degree-days in Red Globe. According to the results, it was determined that Michele Palieri, Alphonse Lavallée and Red Globe were found to be promising for Taraklı county
