Neuropsychological and psychological tests that determine cognitive and psychological state were applied to same anesthesia resident after both 32 hr shift and 8 hr shift. It was found that the residents who were working 32-hour shift have shown neuropsychological impairment. Applied psychological tests were shown depressive mood, anxiety and stress were more frequently observed in the 32-hour working shift group when compared to the 8-hour group. It was concluded that the anesthesia residents’ working programs should be reconstructed in order to minimize the possible mistakes and increase the patient safety.}, number={2}, publisher={Bursa Uludağ University}
