So the potential for concurrent administration of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID s) used in treating arthritis together with antihypertensive agents is considerable. Most NSAID s have the potential to reduce the hypotensive effect of some antihypertensive agents such as diuretics, beta blockers, angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors. The mechanism of this interaction seems primarily related to decrease in prostanoids formation by NSAID s.
