N2  - The new Basel Accord which was designed to replace the 1988 Capital Accord will be applied in the European Union countries and some developed countries in the beginning of 2007. However, implementation of Basel II will have some negative effects on the emerging countries. In this study, the impact of Basel II on the emerging countries is discussed from two point of view. The first are the impacts of Basel II implementation in the developed countries the second are the impacts of Basel II implementation within the emerging country.
