N2  - Corporate governance is a considerably popular modern management apprehension all over the world today. Today’s world a lot of countries embody their current legislations in the framework of their best corporate governance principles. SPK (Capital Markets Board of Turkey) has formed the corporate governance principle in Turkey in parallel with the applications all over the world. In the light of SPK corporate governance principles in Turkey, ISE (Istanbul Stock Exchange) has also started calculating studies of “Corporate Governance Index” by grading the coherence of the corporate governance principles to support the application of these principles in public anonymous processing in ISE. ISE Corporate Governance Index is an index whose corporate governance principles adaptation point is at least 6 as a result of the evaluation made by rating institutions and composed by the shares processing in out of watch list companies markets. The aim of the study is to evaluate 2007 September-2009 November period corporate governance index in terms of risk-return in Turkey. In this study, commonly used Sharpe, Treynor and Jensen performance indexes are ranked and according to each performance index, the performance conditions of the indexes included within the study are presented in respect of research term
