Materials and Methods: 23 patients with ovarian dysgerminoma diagnosed in our department between 1988-2003 were analysed retrospectively. Operation specimens were investigated in our hospital s pathology department. Patients were reviewed according to age, parity, US features, stage, tumor markers, treatment and prognosis. Staging was made according to FIGO system. All cases were operated. Chemotherapy and radioterapy were added to some cases. Results: Mean age of the study group was 24, 3. Nulliparity rate was 56, 5% (13/23). One case was pregnant when diagnosed. At USG examinations 18 of the 23 cases (78, 3%) had an adnexial semisolid mass that extented up to umblicus. Level average tumor diameter was 18, 4 cm. CA-125 levels were measured in 16 patients preoperatively in 9 cases (56, 3 %) levels were over 35 U/ml. Postoperatively in all cases, CA-125 levels were in normal limits. Primary treatment was surgery for all cases. 6 cases had residual tumoral mass. 3500 cGy dose of radioterapy was added for 3 cases. Chemoterapy was added to 20 cases after surgery. In 3 cases, one year after diagnosis, and in a case, two years after diagnosis there were tumoral relapse. One case died 1, 5 years after diagnosis. Follow up is being continuing for 21 cases. Conclusion: Exact diagnosis and correct staging in young women with ovarian tumors is very important since it will provide the best therapy to be chosen.
