N2  - Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the differences in histopathologic characters of epithelial ovarian tumors between young and old patients. Materials and Methods: 72 patients who were included in this study were divided into two groups according to age limit of 45 years. The histopathologic findings were compared between young and old patients. Results: 41.7% of patients were below 45 years of age. Endometrioid histoype was tended to seen in young patients, but the differences was not statistically significant. Omental involvement was more encountered in old and lymph node metastasis in young patients (p<0.05). Stage of the disease, grade and bilateral involvement were comparable between the groups. Conclusion: Young patients have been shown to have better prognosis in current literature. This condition is explained partly by the fact that this patient group has low grade, early stage disease. However, as young age is an independent prognostic factor, other factors including differences in tumor biology should be investigated.
