ilişkin gazetelere yansıyan haberlerin geriye dönük olarak incelenmesidir. </span> </i> </p> <p> <i> </i> </p> <i> </i> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;text-indent:35.4pt;"> <b> <i> <span style="font-size:10pt;">Yöntem: </span> </i> </b> <i> <span style="font-size:10pt;">Araştırmanın evrenini, Türkiye’de tirajı
en yüksek ve aynı zamanda e-arşivi olan iki gazete oluşturmaktadır. Gazetelerin
2000, 2005, 2010 ve 2015 yıllarında yayınlanan haberleri incelenmiştir.
Gazetelerin e-arşivlerinden “hemşire”, “hemşirelik” anahtar kelimeleri ile
tarama yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini hemşirelik ile doğrudan ilgili
olan 2320 haber oluşturmuştur. Haberler; “hemşirelerin mesleki rol ve
sorumlulukları”, “hemşirelerin özlük haklarının kullanımı”, “hemşirelerin
mesleki sorunları”, “toplumda hemşire imajı” ve “kişisel konular” ile ilgili 5
tema altında gruplandırılmıştır. Nicel veriler Excell programında
sayısallaştırılmış, frekans ve yüzdelik değerleri hesaplanmıştır. Her bir haber
ilgili tema altında toplanmış ve tematik analiz yapılmıştır. </span> </i> </p> <p> <i> </i> </p> <i> </i> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;text-indent:35.4pt;"> <b> <i> <span style="font-size:10pt;">Bulgular: </span> </i> </b> <i> <span style="font-size:10pt;">Gazetelerde hemşire ve hemşirelik
haberlerinin son yıllara doğru giderek arttığı görülmektedir. Haberlerin
çoğunluğu hemşirelik bakımı, toplumdaki olumlu hemşire imajının gelişmesi ve
hemşirelerin sosyokültürel faaliyetlerde daha çok görev alması ile ilgilidir.
Bunun yanı sıra hemşireye uygulanan şiddet, hemşire sayısındaki eksiklikler
gibi olumsuz haber sayısında da artış görülmektedir. </span> </i> </p> <p> <i> </i> </p> <i> </i> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;text-indent:35.4pt;"> <b> <i> <span style="font-size:10pt;">Sonuçlar: </span> </i> </b> <i> <span style="font-size:10pt;">Sonuç olarak hemşireliğe yönelik
algıların ve hemşirelik mesleğinin sorunlarının yazılı basına doğrudan veya
dolaylı olarak yansıdığı görülmektedir. Bu bağlamda medyanın bu gücünün
hemşireliğin topluma daha doğru yansıtılması için kullanılabilecek önemli bir

retrospective to examine the news in the newspapers regarding of nursing. </span> </i> </p> <p> <i> </i> </p> <i> </i> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;text-indent:35.4pt;"> <b> <i> <span style="font-size:10pt;">Method: </span> </i> </b> <i> <span style="font-size:10pt;">The population of this research is
comprised of two newspapers with widest circulation and e-archive. The news
published at these newspapers in 2000, 2005, 2010 and 2015 were examined. Scans
were made at the e-archives with “nurse” and “nursing” keywords. The sample was
comprised of 2320 directly related news. The news were grouped under the
following five themes: “occupational roles and responsibilities of nurses”,
“use of personal rights of nurses”, “occupational problems”, “the image of
nurses in the society” and “individual issues”. Quantitative data were
digitized in Excel software; their frequency and percentile values were
calculated. Each news item was gathered under the related theme and a thematic
analysis was conducted. </span> </i> </p> <p> <i> </i> </p> <i> </i> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify;text-indent:35.4pt;"> <b> <i> <span style="font-size:10pt;">Results: </span> </i> </b> <i> <span style="font-size:10pt;">It is observed that news related to
nurses and nursing have increased in the recent years. Most of the news are
related to nursing care, improvement of positive nursing image, nurses taking
