N2  - Genre Based Foreign Language Teaching is a popular concept which has been discussed lately. This approach which was idealized and constructed around the word of “genre”, concerned the local and target contexts of language learning. In addition, giving credit to the expectations of the audience in communication is important. In this study, the term genre, genre based foreign language teaching and different approaches to this pedagogy will be discussed with practical implications for teaching Turkish as a foreign language. Applying or adapting the genre based language teaching into the systematic of teaching Turkish as a foreign language could be useful due to the natural language learning facilities it provides
