Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the perceptions of the prospective engineers on internship in which they are involved during their education. By using the procedures of the qualitative research method, data were collected through semi-structured interviews. The results indicated that prospective engineers focused on the problems in the areas of legal and structural regulations for industrial education, in the theoretical education process given prior to industrial education, and in the structure of enterprises. Based on the problems identified by prospective engineers, the author discusses the cooperation between universities and industry and eventually presents a perspective on how to establish educational partnership structures between universities and the industry for the purpose of improving engineering education}, number={1}, publisher={Ankara University}
