KW - Gıda Güvencesizliği KW - Dış Borç Stoku KW - Gıda İthalatı N2 - In the world increasing awareness of food insecurity has been ofgreat importance for underceveloped and developing countries. In recent yearsthese countries have made little progress in reducing food insecurity. Externaldebt stocks and food imports of these countries have been an upward trendduring the same period. In this study impact of long term external debt andfood imports to merchandise imports on food security was tested with QuantileRegression Method for period 2000-2015 and 50 underdeveloped and developingcountries which have undernourishment prevalence. Quantile Regression Methodreveals the whole picture by taking the entire distribution of the dependendvariable though the determined quantiles contrary to the mean estimationmethods. As a result of the analysis, it has been revealed that the increase inthe long term external debt stock and food imports to merchandise importsreduced food insecurity in food insecure countries especially. This result isthought to be consistent with expectations. CR - Abrevaya J. & Dahl C. M. (2008). The Effects of Birth İnputs on Birthweight: Evidence from Quantile Estimation on Panel Data.
