AB  - Studies investigating the morphologicalprocessing of affixed forms have to date focused predominantly on inflectionalrather than derivational forms and have mostly tested L1 speakers. The presentstudy investigated how high and low proficiency Turkish learners of L2 Englishgeneralize regular/irregular verbal inflection and deadjectival un-/in- derivativesto novel stems in an acceptability judgment task. The results showed that theparticipants generalized both the inflectional and derivational affixes tonovel stems when these stems were similar to the existing stems appearingtogether with these affixes. However, the participants showed no preferencewhen novel stems were dissimilar both in the case of verbal inflection and deadjectivalderivatives. The proficiency level of the participants did not affect theoverall response patterns. The results are discussed in terms of differentmodels proposed for the morphological processing of complex word forms.

N2  - Alanyazındaki çalışmaların çoğunluğu, çekimeklerinin D1 konuşucuları tarafından biçimbilimsel olarak nasıl işlemlendiğineodaklanmıştır. Buna karşın, D2 konuşucularının işlemleme örüntülerini vetüretim eklerinin işlemlenmesini araştıran çalışmalar oldukça az sayıdadır. Budoğrultuda, mevcut çalışmada, yüksek ve düşük seviye D1 Türkçe D2 İngilizcekonuşucularının kurallı/kuralsız geçmiş zaman çekim ekini ve 'un-/in-' türetimeklerini, yeni oluşturulan sözcük köklerine nasıl genellediklerinin incelenmesiamaçlanmıştır. Çalışmadaki tüm ekler, bu ekleri alan mevcut sözcüklerin büyükölçüde benzerlikleri korunarak değiştirilmesiyle elde edilen yeni sözcükkökleriyle birlikte sunulduğunda, anlamlı ölçüde yüksek kabul edilebilirlikoranı elde edilmiştir. Bunun yanısıra, hem çekim hem de türetim ekleri, mevcutsözcüklerden tamamen farklı olan yeni köklerle sunulduğunda, karşılaştırılanekler arasında anlamlı bir tercih farkı bulunmamıştır. İki farklı yeterlikgrubu arasında ise, genelleme davranışları bakımından anlamlı bir fark ortayaçıkmamıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar, biçimbilimsel işlemleme üzerine önerilenfarklı modeller ışığında tartışılmıştır.
