TY - JOUR T1 - THE DEVELOPMENT OF ENGLISH SPEAKING ABILITY USING COMMUNICATIVE TASKSOF UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS ATKALASIN UNIVERSITY AU - Chaisongkram, Kamollapat PY - 2018 DA - August JF - IJAEDU- International E-Journal of Advances in Education JO - IJAEDU PB - OCERINT International Organization Center of Academic Research WT - DergiPark SN - 2411-1821 SP - 216 EP - 224 VL - 4 IS - 11 LA - en AB - The purposes of the effectivegoal which aim of study English speaking to encourage and improve learnersspeak fluency and accurate of this research were: 1) to study and comparescores testing by the English speaking ability tests before and after studyingthrough Communicative Tasks of undergraduate students using three communicative tasks at Kalasin University in Kalasin, Thailand, classified by high,medium, and low, according totheir abilities of English speaking ability level and 2) to study the students’ feeling learning English speakingattitudes  towards teaching Englishspeaking using Communicative Tasks. The sample consisted of 9 first-yearundergraduate students at KalasinUniversity, Kalasin Province, Thailand in the second semester ofthe academic year 2017 classified by high, medium, and low proficiency levelaccording to their abilities. The research was a one group pretest-posttestdesign. The research instruments included 12 lesson plans with English speakingusing Communicative Tasks, an English speaking ability test consist of quizzesandan attitude questionnaire. The instrument employed were percentage that concernwith scores of speaking English test focus onpretest and posttest, Mean, Standard Deviation, and t-test for DependentSamples that examines toward English speakingtest of the similar between a pretest and posttest. The findings forthis research of the students’ leaning speaking Englishusing Communicative Tasks were as follows: 1) the students’pretest were 35.22 or 32.02 percent and increased Englishspeaking skill toward posttest mean score on English speaking ability testwere 94.56 or 85.96 percent respectively. The posttest score of the students’leaning speaking using Communicative Tasks was significantly higher thanthat of the pretest.  2) The students’ feeling learning English usingattitude towards teaching English speaking ability using CommunicativeTasks was at a very good level(Χ =4.90).  KW - English Speaking Ability KW - Communicative Tasks KW - attitude CR - Bueno, A, D.
