Evaluation ofsimplified OSAS diagnostic methodologies is still new and has not been deeplyinvestigated in the field of cardiology. In this study, we aimed to evaluatethe relationship between OSAS and the severity of coronary artery disease inour patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), using the SYNTAX score, theBerlin Sleep Questionnaire (BUA) and the Epworth Sleepiness Scale (EUÖ).Patients &Methods: 200 patients with acute coronary syndrome whounderwent coronary angiography were enrolled in the study. SYNTAX scores of thepatients were calculated. Patients were administered BUA and EUÖ before discharge. The scales were compared between the two groups and with SYNTAX scores ofpatients. Results: In NSTEMI patients, the rate of high-risk patients in theBUA and ACL was statistically significant compared to the STEMI group (p<0.001,p=0.023). The total score of the BUA and thetotal score in the EUÖ was statistically significant in NSTEMI patientscompared to the STEMI group (p<0.001).Pearson correlation analysis revealed a significant positive correlationbetween the SYNTAX score and the total score in the BUA and between the SYNTAXscore and the EUÖ (r = 0.865, p <0.001 ve r = 0.761, p <0.001)Conclusions: In this study, the relationship between OSAS and ACS wasevaluated. The results of the BUA and EUÖ scale were higher than those of othercountries and a positive correlation was found between SYNTAX score and OSASrisk. CR - 1. Speir WA, Jr., Chaudhary BA.
