TY - JOUR T1 - SİLİKON ESASLI YUMUŞAK ASTAR MATERYALLERİNDE BEKLETME SÜRELERİNİN SERTLİK VE SU EMİLİMİ ÜZERİNE ETKİSİ AU - Tuğut, Faik AU - Coşkun, M.emre AU - Akar, Türker PY - 2018 DA - October DO - 10.17567/ataunidfd.473726 JF - Atatürk Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi Dergisi JO - Ata Diş Hek Fak Derg PB - Ataturk University WT - DergiPark SN - 1300-9044 SP - 469 EP - 474 VL - 28 IS - 4 LA - tr AB - Amaç:Bu çalışmanın amacı, silikon esaslıyumuşak astar materyalinin su içerisinde bekletme sürelerinin maddenin sertliğive su emilimi üzerine etkisini araştırmaktır. 1. gün, 1. hafta, 1,3 ve 6 aylık süre zarflarında su emilim veShore A sertlik değerleri ölçümleri gerçekleştirildi. * Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi, Dişhekimliği Fakültesi, Protetik Diş Tedavisi AD, Sivas **Erzincan Üniversitesi, Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi, Protetik Diş Tedavisi AD, Erzincan    Anahtar Kelimeler: Yumuşak astar maddesi, izobutilmetakrilat, sertlik, su emilimiTHE EFFECT OF STORAGE TIMES ON THE HARDNESS AND WATERSORPTION IN SILICONE-BASED SOFT LINING MATERIALSAim: The purpose of this research is to investigate theeffect of the storage times of silicone-based soft lining material in water onhardness and water absorption of the material.Materialand methods: In this study, silicone based soft denture liner Permaflex andisobutylmethacrylate-added form of the same material were used. The soft denture liners were processed according tomanufac- turers’ instructions with the dimension (10x10x1mm) for water sorptiontests and (10x10mm) for hardness tests, and then put in water bath at 37 0C. During the periodsof 1st day, 1st week, 1, 3 and 6 months, the measurementsof water absorption and Shore A hardness values were performed. Data wereevaluated using Man Whıtney U, Friedman and Wilcoxon tests (α=0.05).Results:Regardingthe hardness, a statistically signi-ficant difference was obtained among all Permaflex and Permaflex+isobutylmethacrylate groups when comparing alltime periods (p<0,05). A statistically sig- nificant difference was alsofound between the water absorption values only at the 3rd monthmeasurements (p<0,05). In Permaflex group, water absorption value wasstatistically higher and hardness values were sta- tistically lower compared toPermaflex+ isobutylmet- hacrylate groups. While the water absorption values ofboth Permaflex and Permaflex + isobutylmethacrylate groups increased during thewater holding periods, no statistically significant increase in hardness valueswas found. Conclusion:Ithas been determined that isobutylmethacrylate and storage in different timeperiods cause a change in the soft lining material in terms of hardness andwater absorption. Keywords: Softlining materials, Isobutylmethacrylate, hardness, water sorption KW - Yumuşak astar maddesi KW - izobutilmetakrilat KW - sertlik CR - 1.
