Three-phase power system (3-PPS) and twelve-phasepower system (12-PPS) are modelled. Analyzing faults in MPPS, symmetricalcomponents method is used. Connection of sequence circuits for all fault typesin 12-PPS are provided. Load flow analysis for MPPS is made by using phasecoordinates method. It includes modeling of power systems components such asgenerator, transformer, and line for 12-PPS. Therefore, bus voltages arecalculated before fault calculation. Different types of faults are calculated.Proposed fault calculation method for any type of fault at any bus of MPPS isprovided. Fault calculations were done for all possible faults in 12-PPS. Symmetricaland asymmetrical fault currents in 12-PPS were calculated and listed. The faultlocation and type compared with other different locations and types of faultsin 12-PPS. In addition, 3-PPS fault currents compared with MPPS examined inthis study.
