For this purpose, they conclude agreements to market eachother’s fiscal products, to be represented on eachother’s board of directors or to exchange some of their branch offices and shares. The institutions using these methods are subject to eachother’s law. However, this causes competition inequality and distress the savers’ and creditors’ rights. In order to obstruct these results, European Union issued updated Banking Directives in 1977, 1989, 2000 and 2006. The last issued 2006/48/EC Directive is applied as Banking Code in European Single Market. The said Directive includes provisions to eliminate the negative results of the methods of enlarging the geographical scope of business; such as the establishment of branch offices in EU member states, the supervision of these branch offices and cross-border serving without establishing branch offices UR - https://doi.org/10.1501/Hukfak_0000000334 L1 - https://dergipark.org.tr/en/download/article-file/627821 ER -
