AB  - Bu metinde ÇanakkaleSavaşı’yla ilgili tarihsel anlatıdaki değişim ve yoğunlaşma, konunun Türkiye’deneoliberal devletin inşa ediliş süreciyle olan ilişkisi çerçevesindeincelenmektedir. Konuyla ilgili tartışma Wacquant`in sentor devlet (centaurstate) kavramsallaştırması üzerinden yürütülmekte ve Çanakkale Savaşıvurgusunun günümüz Türkiye’sinin neoliberal ihtiyaçlarına nasıl hizmet ediyorolabileceği sorgulanmaktadır. Bu arka plan çerçevesinde metinde güncelÇanakkale Savaşı anlatısının; Batı karşıtı ideolojileri destekleme, düşmanyaratma ve hakim rejime destek toplayıcı bir araç olarak kullanılma işlevleriele alınmıştır. Bunun yanı sıra, söz konusu eğilimin, savaşın yer aldığı kente,yani Çanakkale’ye olan toplumsal ve mekânsal etkilerine değinilmiştir.Çalışmada, Wacquant’ın kapatma (incarceration) vurgusundan hareketle,‘ideolojik kapatma’ olarak adlandırabileceğimiz bir kontrol biçiminden daha sözedebileceğimiz öne sürülmekte ve Türkiye örneği üzerinden ele alınan bu tür birideolojik kapatmanın, tarihsel referansların ele alınma ve kitlelere yansıtılmabiçimiyle olan olası ilişkisine dikkat çekilmektedir. Metnin genel amacı,tarihin kitlelere yansıtılışı ile iktidar ilişkileri arasındaki etkileşimleriyerel bir örnek üzerinden ve neoliberalizm tartışmaları çerçevesindesorgulamaktır.

N2  - Inthis paper, I examine why the GallipoliWar narrative has become increasingly important over the last two decades, andhow this visible tendency is related to the construction and protection of theneoliberal government in Turkey. I frame the discussion byutilizing Loïc Wacquant’s concept of the ‘centaur state’ and focus on howGallipoli narratives meet the requirements of the neoliberal order incontemporary Turkey. Besides, I discuss the issue within the framework of itseffect on the territory where the war took place; namely, Çanakkale. In this way, I seek to answer my researchquestion by studying a local case and drawing on the scholarship onneoliberalism, as well as interrogating the relationship between the powerrelations and the way history is passed down from one generation to the nextand from the state to the public. I argue that in the Turkish case, there is an‘ideological incarceration’,in addition to incarceration, which helps the centaur state to obtain andprotect its legitimacy. Thus, the Gallipoli War narrative acts as a significanthistorical reference to enable this current ideological incarceration of Turkish society, specificallyby: i) supporting anti-Western ideologies; ii) creating enemies; and iii)providing political support for the dominant regime.
