The main purpose of this study is to analyze the strategies used for subtitling allusions from English to Turkish in  </span> <em style="font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:11.2px;">The Simpsons Movie,  </em> <span style="font-family:Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:11.2px;">which is considerably rich in allusion. Leppihalme’s (1997) classification of the various translation strategies will be employed as a framework for the study. A quantitative analysis will be performed and several examples from the film that are included in the corpus will be discussed.
