Ayrıca, bu bileşik büyükçevresel problemlere sebep olan toksik özelliğe sahip metaller (Na+,Cs+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, Cd2+,Pb2+ ve Hg2+) ve oksianyonların’ın (kromat ve arsenat)sıvı-sıvı ekstraksiyon çalışmaların da kullanılmıştır. Ekstraksiyon sonuçlarınagöre düşük pH larda kromat (pH=1,5) ve arsenat (pH=3,5) anyonlarının yüksekoranda sulu fazdan organik faza taşındığı görülmüştür. Kaliksaren türevi (3) ile oksianyonlar arasında kikompleks oranı job’s plot analiz yöntemi ile 1:1 olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
