AB  - Biz bu araştırmada erkekliğianlamak için sosyal psikolojik ve sosyolojik yaklaşımları bir araya getirenkuramsal bir çerçeve çizmeye çalıştık. Erkeklik olgusunu çözümlemek içinsöylemsel psikoloji, sosyal kimlik kuramı, kendini-kategorileme kuramı vehegemonik erkeklik yaklaşımını sentezlemeyi hedefledik. Bu kuramsal çerçeveyedayanarak erkeklerle üç odak grup görüşmesi gerçekleştirdik. Toplam 18 lisansöğrencisi çalışmamıza katıldı. Odak grup görüşmelerinin tamamını deşifreettikten sonra tematik analiz ve söylem analizi tekniklerini kullanarak veriyianaliz ettik. Alanyazında daha önce bulgulanan ve tartışılan erkekliktemalarının katılımcılarımız tarafından farklı söylemlerle ortaya konulduğunugözlemledik. Erkekliğe yaklaşmak için oluşturduğumuz bütünleyici teorikçerçeve, elde ettiğimiz görgül bulguları betimlememizi sağladı, diğer biranlatımla, erkeklerin erkekliği anlamlandırma ve bunu çeşitli söylemselstratejilerle ortaya koyma pratiklerini anlamlandırmamıza yol açtı.

N2  - In this research we established atheoretical framework that brings together social psychological andsociological approaches to understand masculinity. We aimed to synthesizediscursive psychology, social identity theory, self-categorization theory andhegemonic masculinity approach to analyze the masculinity phenomenon. Based onthis theoretical framework, we conducted three focus group interviews with men.A total of 18 undergraduate students participated in the research. Aftertranscribing the entire focus group interviews, we analyzed the data usingthematic analysis and discourse analysis techniques. We observed that thetopics of masculinity as found and discussed previously in the literature wereput forward by our participants in their different discourses. Thecomplementary theoretical framework we have put together to approachmasculinity allowed us to describe the empirical findings we have obtained. Inother words, we made sense of men's interpretation of masculinity and theirpractice of putting it into various discursive strategies.
