The importance and value of speaking English hasbeen accepted worldwide. English language is most dynamic and crucial aspect ofuniversal human interaction. In Pakistan, teaching of English was mainlyfocused upon reading and writing skills. But in today's world, listening andspeaking skills have become much more important than in the past. Present studyis an investigation in the field of teaching speaking skills through A.V. Aids.It is said that now the trends have been changed and teachers are gettingacknowledged with the importance of speaking skills. Recently, AV. aids arebeing used frequently in the classrooms to make the teaching learning processeasy, attractive and interesting. At the same time when trends are changing ondaily basis, there are some Govt. institutes which are still following thetraditional methods of teaching speaking skills. In Pakistani scenario, thesituation is alarming. Govt. institutes are still following the traditionalways of teaching. So in the present study, the focus is on this matter whetherthe use of A.V. Aids can be beneficial in bringing a positive change in theteaching learning process of speaking skills for the ESL learners. So thecurrent study investigates the use of A.V. Aids in classrooms and its drasticeffects on teaching speaking skills to the teen aging ESL learners. The collectiveproblems of teacher and the students during speaking skills was the main focusof the study. It was a pre-test post-test experimental design. Fifty studentsparticipated in this study. Sample of the study were teen aging ESL learners.Observation and questionnaire were used as a tool to collect data fromrespondents. There was a significant difference between pre-test and post-testresults. It was suggested that speech practice training with the help of AVaids should encouraged at secondary level.
