Turc. PB - Isparta University of Applied Sciences WT - DergiPark SN - 2651-5474 SP - 433 EP - 439 VL - 15 IS - 4 LA - en AB - In this study, the length-weight and length-lengthrelationships were investigated for S.scrofa from İzmir Bay, Aegean Sea. All fish sample lengths and weights wererecorded to the nearest 0.01 cm and to 0.01 g. The measured total length values for females, males and combined sexeswere 16-30.2 cm; 17.7-28 cm and 16-30.2 cm respectively. The weight values forfemales, males and combined sexes were 73.20-441 g; 89.80-378 g and 73.20-441 grespectively. According to t test results, there were nostatistically significant differences for S.scrofa species (P˃0.05); therefore, female and male samples were evaluatedtogether. The length-weight relationship equations as y=0.016x2.993(r²=0.914) for all specimens. The ‘b’ value of LWR was not significantly different from 3.0and their growth type was isometric. Total length-standard lengthrelationship equations were determined as y=1.287x+0.112 (r²=0.97). This study ishelpful in providing information about length-weight and length-lengthrelationships and the current study can be useful to compare stocks of thespecies in the different habitats. KW - Red scorpionfish KW - Scorpaena scrofa KW - Length-weight relationships N2 - Buçalışmada, Ege Denizi İzmir Körfezi’nden S.scrofa’nın Boy-Ağırlık ve Boy-Boyilişkisi incelenmiştir. Tüm örneklerin boyları ve ağırlıkları 0.01cmve 0.01 g hassasiyetle ölçülmüştür. Dişi, erkek ve tüm bireylerde ölçülen totalboy değerleri sırasıyla 16-30.2 cm; 17.7-28 cm ve16-30.2cm’dir. Ağırlık değerleri ise 73.20-441 g; 89.80-378 g and 73.20-441 g’dır.
