AB  - Transferring the architectural marks of therespective era of communities that have lived since most ancient times inhistory to the next generation is a necessity.Marauding of our cultural assets of the past through rapidly changinglive conditions, urbanization, population growth, gradual depletion of naturalresources, industrialization, deliberate and unconscious destruction rendersprotection of cultural assets necessary.History of Amasya City is also a settlement that dates back to ancientcivilizations. It has succeeded in protecting its historical texture substantiallyup to date. However, the city is gradually facing the risk of losing the uniquecharacteristic due to unplanned urbanization. This study presents the cultural,historical and architectural characteristics of Yalıboyu Houses, which holdabundant examples of the civil architectural of Amasya City, and examines andevaluates the layout characteristics, plan and facade arrangements and the loadbearing systems of the registered civil architectural examples in detail.
