AB  - Patterns of the thinking process affect not only the success of studentsat school, but, more importantly, they affect the success of a person in his orher professional and personal sphere. According to the fact that today theavailability of information and their volume grow geometrically, it isextremely important to learn how to deal with overloading of information. Fromthis point of view, it is desirable to human nature to be identical to humancognition, which unambiguously exceeds only the ratio itself. Human wisdom isexternally demonstrated by the culture of thinking. The ability of impartialjudgment, the ability to predict, observe, asses and evaluate phenomena belongto the basic characteristics of thinking culture. One of the primaryprerequisites for the quality of complementary thinking is the ability touncover relationships, compare them in connections and generalize themappropriately. This "versatile" assessment, which is denoted ascritical thinking, can be learned through the application of mind or cognitivemaps. The article presents the experience of authors with the preparation offuture teachers of technical subjects not only with the application of thesemaps in the process of teaching, but also with their elaboration by thestudents.
