AB  - ÖZETTrombositoz sıklıkla rastlantısal olarak karşımıza çıkan ancak ayırıcı tanısı önemli olan bir bulgudur. Modern hematolojianalizatörleri güvenilir tam kan sayımı sağlasa da; mikrositler, mikrosferositler, parçalanmış eritrositler,parçalanmış lökositler, lipid damlacıkları ve bakteriler varlığında otomatik trombosit sayımı için ciddi zorluklaroluşturur. Böyle durumlarda trombosit sayısını değerlendirmede periferik yayma önem kazanmaktadır. Makalemizdealfa talasemi taşıyıcılığına bağlı yalancı trombositoz görülen olgumuzu sunduk.Anahtar kelimeler: Yalancı trombositoz; Alfa talasemi taşıyıcılığı; Periferik yaymaABSTRACTThrombocytosis is often a coincidental finding but its differential diagnosis is important. Although the modernhaematology analyzers provide reliable full blood counts, automated platelet counting creates seriousdifficulties in the presence of microcytes, microspherocytes, fragmented erythrocytes, fragmented leukocytes,lipid droplets and bacteria. In such cases, peripheral blood smear is important for evaluating the platelet count.We presented a case with pseudo-thrombocytosis due to alpha thalassemia trait in our article.Key words: Pseudo-thrombocytosis; Alpha thalassemia trait; Peripheral blood smear
