AB  - Purpose:Toevaluate the importance of the foreign bodies in the eyelid of pediatricpatients.Method: The charts of pediatric patients who referredto Department of Ophthalmology with eyelid trauma were retrospectivelyreviewed. Children with foreign bodies were included in the study.Results: Seven of the 82 pediatricpatients had foreign bodies in their eyelids. Mean age of the children was5,6±2.4 years. In all cases globe was intact but one who was injured withbullet. Five of 7 patients were injured outdoor. In 2 patients foreign bodieswere organic. Only one patient, who had injury with bullet, had low vision;visual acuity was 20/20 in rest of the patients.Conclusion:Detailedophthalmic examination is crucial in trauma patients. Examination under generalanesthesia and surgical intervention should be kept in mind especially in children withunusual injuries.
