AB  - Sınırlı kaynaklara sahip küçük bir Ortadoğu ülkesi olarak Ürdün boyut veimkanlarının çok ötesinde bir öneme sahiptir. Bu nedenle ülkenin istikrarı sadece kuruluşundanberi iktidarda olan Haşimi Hanedanı için değil bölge geneli için önem taşımaktadır. TransÜrdünEmirliği İngiltere tarafından resmi olarak tanındığı 1923 yılından beri HaşimilerArap Dünyası’ndaki gelişmelere paralel olarak dört muhalif dalgayla karşı karşıya kalmış,diğer bölge ülkelerinin aksine bu mücadelelerden başarıyla çıkarak rejim istikrarını sürdürmeyibaşarmıştır. Bölge için uzun sayılabilecek bu istikrarın nedenleri ülkenin ve rejimin bazıkendine özgü özellikleridir. Ürdün’e has bu özellikleri değerlendirdikten sonra bu çalışmadaamaçlanan rejimin geçmiş deneyimlerinden hareketle İslami muhalefet karşısında nasıl birperformans gösterebileceğini değerlendirmektir.

N2  - As a small Middle eastern country with limited resources Jordan possesses a levelof importance beyond its size and means. As a result the stability of the country is notonly important for the Hashemite Dynasty that ruled it since its inception but the regionas a whole. Since 1923 when Great Britain officially recognized the Emirate of Transjordanhashemites faced four waves of opposition that developed paralel to the developments in theArab World, but unlike the rest of the countries in the region, managed to come outof thesestruggles with success. This stability that can be considered long for the region is the resultof certain characteristics of the country and the regime. After evaluating these characteristics,this study aims to look at the regime’s past experiences in order to gain insight on how it mayperform against current challenges posed by Islamist opposition.
