N2  - This paper discusses five main challenges the Somali State faces, from its birth till now, that are seen as the magnitude challenges where the existence of one challenge confirms the existence of another. Briefly, these challenges are the historical challenges that preceded the independence of Somalia; and the political performance of the various Somali governments that greatly contributed to the collapse of the state, civil conflict, and the status of a failed state. This paper provides an overview of how interrelated these challenges are in a way that enables us to answer these questions, however, it does not provide solutions to address these challenges or to overcome them quickly
