AB  - Nedim Gürsel’in İzler ve Gölgeler adlıyapıtı, ‘yolculuk anlatısı’ ve ‘deneme türü’ arasında yer alan çok katmanlıve ilgi çekicidir. Yazar, yapıtta inceleme, anı, günce, yapıştırma, metinlerarasılık, yaşamöyküsel, nesnel öyküleme gibi çok sayıda çağdaşanlatım tekniklerinden yararlanarak okuru, dört anakarayıkapsayan uzamdan yazar, şair ve sanatçıların izlerini sürmeye çağırır. Baudelaire ile başlayan bu büyülü yolculuk, Caravaggio, Kafka, Puşkin ve Dostoyevski, Gogol, İvo Andriç, Borges, Tennessee Williams ile sürer ve Pierre Loti’nin İstanbul’unda sona erer. Gürsel, anlatısında gerçekçi bir tutum takınır. Betimlediği kişiler gibi uzam ve zaman da gerçeğe uygundur. Bu anlamda yapıt, yolculuk anlatısıve deneme türü eleştirisi ile uygunluk gösterir. Çok fazla bilgi ve derin araştırmanın sonucu olan bu anlatı, varsıl içeriğiyle okura okuma beğenisi kazandıracak belliktendir.

N2  - The work of Nedim Gürsel İzler ve Gölgeler  Traces and Shadows  is said to be multidimentional  and interesting one which can be among ‘narrtives of journey’ and ‘essay type’. The writer takes  the attention of readers to the traces of writers, poets and artists from places that cover the four  continents by making use of diverse contemporary exposition techniques, such as stylistics and  diary studies, flashback, intertextuality, autobiography and objective narration. This enchanted  journey started by Baudelaire continues with Caravaggio, Kafka, Puşkin andDostoyevski, Gogol,  İvo Andriç, Borges, Tennessee Williams and ends in İstanbul of Pierre Loti.  Gürsel in his narrative style seems realistic. Just like the characters he depicts, place and time  are also in accordance whit the reality. In this sense, the work is in harmony with narratives of  journey and essay criticisms. This narrative which is an outcome of profound investigation  enables the readers to gain a reading habit whit its rich context.
