TY - JOUR T1 - INCREASING JET LENGTH AT LOW DISCHARGE FOR THE SKI-JUMP SPILLWAY OF KEBAN DAM AU - Merdin, Selami AU - Ertaş, Basri PY - 2010 DA - August JF - Gazi University Journal of Science PB - Gazi University WT - DergiPark SN - 2147-1762 SP - 91 EP - 104 VL - 17 IS - 2 LA - en AB - ABSTRACT The most important disadvantage of the ski-jump spillways is the scouring at the downstream of the spillway where the flow hits the ground. For this reason, it is important that the flow is thrown from the end of the spillway to a safe distance. In this study, a spillway model was designed to provide a safe distance at low discharges. In order to examine the efficiency of the new model, firstly, a basic ski-jump spillway model with 220  toe angle was constructed. On this model, several experiments with various discharges were performed. All experiments of the first model were repeated on the newly designed model. The efficiency of the new model was examined by comparing the results of the experiments of the two models.    Key Words: Ski-jump spillways, Jet trajectory, Jet length KW - Ski-jump spillways KW - Jet trajectory KW - Jet length UR - https://dergipark.org.tr/en/pub/gujs/issue//97038 L1 - https://dergipark.org.tr/en/download/article-file/83217 ER -
