AB  - İnsanoğlu yeryüzünde var olduğu günden itibaren sürekli barınma ve korunma ihtiyacı hissetmiştir. Bu amaçla önceleri doğada mevcut olan yerleri kullanmaya çalışmış sonrasında ise kendisi bu tür yerler inşa etme çabası içerisine girmiştir. Konut, bireyin temel fiziksel ihtiyaçlarından birisi olarak barınma ihtiyacını karşılayan, insanların güvenli ve rahat bir şekilde yaşamlarını sürdürebilmeleri gerekli olan en önemli unsurlardan birisidir. İnsanların zamanla sadece korunmak veya barınmak için değil yatırım amacıyla da konut inşa ettikleri, satın aldıkları ya da sattıkları görülmektedir. Bu bağlamda konut piyasası ekonomik yapı içerisinde önemli bileşenlerden birisi haline gelmiştir. Dolayısıyla günümüzde ülkelerin ekonomik yapısı hakkında bilgi veren önemli bir göstergedir. Konut piyasasında arz ve talebi etkileyen faktörler diğer sektörlere göre çok daha karmaşıktır ve pek çok değişken söz konusudur. Konut sektörünün özellikle küresel kriz ya da küresel salgın hastalık (COVID-19) gibi dönemlerden ciddi olarak etkilendiği görülmektedir. Ancak bu etkinin boyutu ekonomik, siyasal ya da toplumsal kültüre bağlı olarak ülkeler arasında farklılıklar gösterebilmektedir. Bu bağlamda bu çalışmada COVID-19 sürecinin Türkiye’de konut sektörü üzerindeki etkileri incelenmeye çalışılmıştır.
