Mehmet Nesip Ogun is professor and the Rector of University of Mediterranean Karpasia in Northern Cyprus. He was a visiting scholar at Columbia University,Saltzman Institute of War and Peace Studies in New York City. He also held positions like the Dean of the Faculty of Political Science at Girne American University and Vice Rector of The American University in Cyprus. His doctoral dissertation examined terrorists’ use of the Internet. His research focused on the exploitation of Internet by terrorist organizations for their activities. In that regard, He has conducted interviews to explore solutions to overcome terrorist networks in terms of terrorist use of Internet. Terrorism in general, Internet, and propaganda terms were studied and some solutions were proposed. In addition, social network analysis was used to cover and identify the linkages of terrorist websites along with their contexts affiliated with terrorist purposes.
