Ilgi is an independent researcher in Washington D.C. United States of America. She is an architect and holds a PhD degree from Istanbul Technical University with a dissertation entitled "Temporality and Spatiality of Syntactic and Semantic Patterns in Urban Heterotopias". She has 10 years of research experience in universities including Delft University of Technology (TUDelft), Ecole Nationale Superieure d'Architecture de Lyon (ENSAL) and Istanbul Technical University (ITU). Her current research examines cultural diversity, socio-spatial patterns and social encounters in historical neighbourhood settings, using space syntax methods.
