In this study, hypothesis of themaster's thesis titled “A Research on Occupations in Turkish Children’s Novels”is presented. The theoretical part which constitutes the hypothesis of thethesis is structured by this study, because the theoretical basis on whichqualitative and quantitative data are grounded is relatively new in the fieldand the literature is genuinely reviewed. Accordingly, the relationship betweenchildren's literature and occupations is established, and the status of children’sliterature as being a source of occupational development is examined. Qualificationsof fictional children's literature as an occupational information source are presented.The occupations included in fictional children’s literature and how they areintroduced are identified in general. Children's novels are examined in termsof introducing the occupations in specific.
</trans-abstract>
