                            <p>This study aimed to examinewhether peer-assisted writing activities had an effect on the writingachievement and performance of 4th grade students. The singlesubject design was used to conduct the study. The sample of the study consistedof six primary school students in a class of 4th graders who wereselected using the clustered random sampling method. A series of descriptiveanalyses was used to compare the findings of peer-assisted writing group and therest of the class. The Wilcoxon test was used to compare the results of the peer-assistedwriting group’s pre-and post-test scores. The results of the analysis revealedthat the peer-assisted writing group was more advantageous than the rest of theclass in terms of writing scores, total number of words and the percentage of numberof correct words. In addition, it became obvious that there was a significantdifference between the pre-test and post-test results of the students in the peer-assistedwriting group in favor of the post-test in terms of their writing scores and, thetotal number of correct words. It can be concluded that peer-assisted writing had a positive contribution inincreasing 4th graders’ writing scores and performances.</p></trans-abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <abstract><p>Bu çalışmanın amacı akran destekli yazmaetkinliklerinin ilkokul 4. sınıf öğrencilerinin yazma başarı ve performansıüzerindeki etkisini tespit edebilmektir. Çalışma, tek denekli desenlere uygunolarak yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın katılımcıları, küme rastgele örneklemeyoluyla tespit edilmiş bir ilkokul 4. sınıf şubesinden seçilen altı öğrencidenoluşmaktadır. Veri analizinde betimsel yöntemlerden faydalanılmış; akrandestekli yazma grubu ile sınıfın geri kalanına ait bulgular karşılaştırılmıştır.Ayrıca akran destekli yazma grubunun ön-test ve son-test ölçüm sonuçlarıWilcoxon İşaretli Sıralar testi ile kıyaslanmıştır. Yapılan analizler sonucundasınıfın geri kalanına kıyasla akran destekli yazma grubunun yazma başarıpuanları, yazılan toplam kelime sayıları ve doğru kelime sayısı oran yüzdeleriaçısından daha avantajlı olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Akran destekli yazmagrubunun yazma başarı puanları ve doğru kelime sayısı oranlarında son-testlehine anlamlı bir farklılığın olduğu da görülmüştür. Bu doğrultuda akrandestekli yazmanın ilkokul 4. sınıf öğrencilerinin yazma başarı ve performansınaolumlu yönde bir katkı sağladığı ifade edilebilir.</p></abstract>
