Values exist with the past accumulations of the society and spread throughout that society at the point of acceptance. In addition, they are also seen as the reason for existence and continuity in reaching the concepts of "us" and "unity". After all, values are acceptance and beliefs that are protected and developed by the individuals that make up the society. It is important to convey values at every stage of education, which undertakes the task of seeing and planning the future based on past experience and knowledge, and at the same time making this knowledge more useful in the future. The teaching of values that help to build a bridge between the past and the future and reflect the cultural accumulation of societies are also reflected in the curriculum and textbooks used in schools. Turkish lesson is especially important in this regard; because values are transferred through language, literary works are used in the transfer of national and universal values. This study is designed as a case study. Accordingly, Turkish Lesson Curriculum and Middle School Turkish Textbooks and Workbooks were compared in the context of values education. In this study, document analysis technique was used to determine the elements that mediate values education in data sources and various categories were created. Accordingly, Turkish Lesson Curriculum was examined in the general aims, achievements, content, and evaluation categories; textbooks and workbooks, on the other hand, were examined in the theme and sub-themes, preparatory studies, listening and reading texts, visuals, and activities categories. The data were analysed by content analysis method. In this way, to which extent the values were included in the Turkish Lesson Curriculum and in the textbooks and workbooks was presented comparatively and also their availability was discussed.
Değerler, toplumun geçmişe dayalı birikimleriyle var olan ve kabul görme noktasında o toplumun geneline yayılan; aynı zamanda “biz” olma, “birlik olma” kavramlarına ulaşma hususunda varlık ve sürekliliğin sebebi olarak görülen; nihayetinde toplumu meydana getiren bireylerce korunan ve geliştirilen kabulleniş ve inanışlardır. Geçmiş tecrübe ve birikime dayanarak geleceği görmek ve planlamak, aynı zamanda bu birikimi gelecekte daha kullanışlı hâle getirebilmek görevini üstlenen eğitimin her aşamasında değerlerin aktarılması önemlidir. Geçmişle gelecek arasında bir köprü oluşturulmasına yardımcı olan, toplumların kültürel birikimini yansıtan değerlerin öğretimi, öğretim programlarına ve okullarda okutulan ders kitaplarına da yansımıştır. Özellikle Türkçe dersi bu konuda ayrıca önemlidir; çünkü değer aktarımı dil aracılığıyla yapılır, millî ve evrensel değerlerin aktarımında edebî eserlerden faydalanılır. Nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması türünde yapılan bu araştırmada Türkçe Dersi Öğretim Programı ve Ortaokul Türkçe Ders ve Çalışma Kitapları, değerler eğitimi bağlamında karşılaştırılmıştır. Çalışmada, veri kaynaklarında değerler eğitimine aracılık eden ögeleri belirlemek için doküman incelemesi tekniği kullanılmış ve çeşitli kategoriler oluşturulmuştur. Buna göre Türkçe Dersi Öğretim Programı; genel amaçlar, kazanımlar, içerik ve değerlendirme kategorilerinde; ders ve çalışma kitapları ise tema ve alt temalar, hazırlık çalışmaları, dinleme ve okuma metinleri, görseller ve etkinlikler kategorilerinde incelenmiştir. Elde edilen veriler içerik analizi yöntemiyle çözümlenmiştir. Bu yolla, Türkçe öğretim programı ile ders ve çalışma kitaplarında değerlere ne ölçüde yer verildiği karşılaştırmalı olarak ortaya konulmuş ve bunların kullanılabilirliği tartışılmıştır.
