<p>Dental implants are the first choice for rehabilitation of lost teeth because they offer excellent functional and aesthetic results. During osteotomy performed on the bone during implant surgery, heat is generated in the bone. If the generated heat exceeds the level the bone can tolerate, thermal necrosis occurs. This disrupts postoperative healing, leading to a primary loss of stability in the implant and ultimately implant failure. For this reason, researchers have studied the factors affecting bone heating during implant surgeries and proposed techniques to minimize heat generation. This review discusses the effects of temperature increase on bone.</p></trans-abstract>
