Amaç: Bu araştırma 3-18 yaş arası çocuğu olan annelerin çocuk cinsel istismarcılarına yönelik bilgi ve farkındalık düzeyleri ve etkileyen faktörleri belirlemek amacı ile yapılmıştır.Gereç ve Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel tipte olan bu araştırma, 1 Mart-4 Nisan 2024 tarihleri arasında 3-18 yaş aralığında çocuğu bulunan 346 anne ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma verileri “Tanıtıcı Soru Formu” ve “Çocuk Cinsel İstismarcılarına Yönelik Bilgi ve Farkındalık Ölçeği” ile elde edilmiştir.Bulgular: Araştırma kapsamına alınan annelerden %38.4’ü şimdiye kadar istismara uğramış birine rastlamıştır. Katılımcı annelerin %69.1’i cinsel istismara uğramış birisinin ne yapması gerektiği konusunda bilgisinin olduğunu belirtmiştir. Annelerin %32.9’u cinsel istismara yönelik eğitim aldığını ifade etmiştir. Annelerin %35.3’ü hem erkek hem de kız çocuğuna, %35’i sadece kız çocuğuna ve %29.7’si ise sadece erkek çocuğuna sahiptir. Annelerin %47.1’isinin sadece okul döneminde, %29.5’inin çocuğu sadece okul öncesi dönemde ve %23.4’ünün ise her iki yaş döneminde de çocuğu bulunmaktadır.Araştırma kapsamında yer alan annelerin “Çocuk Cinsel İstismarcılarına Yönelik Bilgi ve Farkındalık Ölçeği” toplamının puan ortalaması (100.03 ± 31.781), “Çocuk Cinsel İstismarcılarının Karakteristiği” alt boyutunun puan ortalaması (27.91 ± 10.182) ve “Grooming/İstismar Yöntemleri” alt boyutunun puan ortalaması (72.12 ± 23.346) olarak bulunmuştur. Annelerin öğrenim durumu ile “Çocuk Cinsel İstismarcılarının Karakteristiği” alt boyutu arasında istatistiksel olarak, anlamlı farklılık saptanmış, üniversite ve üzeri öğrenim durumuna sahip annelerin puanlarının lise ve altı öğrenim durumuna sahip annelerden daha yüksek olduğu görülmüştür (p
Aim: This study was conducted to determine the knowledge and awareness levels of mothers with children aged 3-18 years about child sexual abusers and the factors affecting them.Material and Method: The descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted between 1 March and 4 April 2024 with 346 mothers with children aged 3-18 years. The research data were obtained with an introductory questionnaire and the Knowledge and Awareness Scale on Child Sexual Abusers.Results: Among the mothers included in the study, 38.4% had ever come across someone who had been abused. 69.1% of the participant mothers stated that they had knowledge about what a sexually abused person should do. 32.9% of the mothers stated that they received training on sexual abuse. 35.3% of the mothers had both a boy and a girl child, 35% had only a girl child and 29.7% had only a boy child. 47.1% of the mothers had children only in the school period, 29.5% had children only in the pre-school period and 23.4% had children in both age periods.The mean score of the total "Knowledge and Awareness of Child Sexual Abusers" scale was found to be (100.03 ± 31.781), the mean score of the "Characteristics of Child Sexual Abusers" sub-dimension was (27.91 ± 10.182) and the mean score of the "Grooming/Abuse Methods" sub-dimension was (72.12 ± 23.346). A statistically significant difference was found between the educational level of the mothers and the "Characteristics of Child Sexual Abusers" sub-dimension, and it was observed that the scores of mothers with university and higher education were higher than those of mothers with high school and lower education (p < 0.05).Conclusion: In order to increase the level of knowledge and awareness of mothers with low level of education about child sexual abusers, it is recommended that trainings on the subject should be organised and more qualitative studies should be planned.
