                                                                                                <abstract><p>Amaç: Bu çalışmada, firar suçu işlemiş bireylerde askerliğe elverişlilik ve ceza sorumluluğu ile sosyodemografik, klinik ve kriminal özellikler arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır.Yöntem: Veriler hastane kayıtlarından elde edilerek retrospektif olarak tasarlanan çalışmaya, 2016–2025 yılları arasında askeri sağlık kuruluna yönlendirilen firar suçu sanığı dahil edilmiştir. Bulgular: 82 sanık çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Katılımcıların önemli bir kısmında madde kullanım öyküsü ve cezaevi geçmişi bulunmasına rağmen, bu değişkenler ile askerliğe elverişlilik arasında anlamlı ilişki saptanmamıştır (p&amp;gt;0,05). Askerliğe elverişsiz olarak değerlendirilen bireylerin tamamında psikiyatrik tanı bulunmuş olup, en sık antisosyal kişilik bozukluğu ve diğer kişilik bozuklukları saptanmıştır (p</p></abstract>

                            <p>Objective: This study aimed to examine the relationship between military fitness, criminal responsibility, and sociodemographic, clinical, and criminal characteristics in individuals charged with desertion.Method: This retrospective study, which utilized data obtained from hospital records, included individuals accused of desertion who were referred to the military medical board between 2016 and 2025.Results: A total of 82 defendants were included in the study. Although a significant proportion of the participants had a history of substance use and a criminal record, no significant association was found between these variables and fitness for military service (p &amp;gt; 0.05).
