Role of Dentistry in Forensic Science

Year 2018, Volume: 9 Issue: 1, 1593 - 1600, 01.01.2018

Abstract

Forensic dentistry is a branch of forensic sciences, which is working for keeping and evaluating dental records for the justice system.. Forensic dentistry practices are used in several fields such as the comparison of dental records, age estimation and sex determination from teeth, and bite mark, palatal ruga and cheiloscopy analysis. The problems raised by the hardships in the process of identification of mass fatality victims after the disasters occurring in and out of our country in recent years, have proved the importance of forensic dentistry once again. In order to solve these problems, some ideas came into prominence regarding the handling of organizational issues, such as keeping the ante mortem dental records properly. In this review, it is aimed to present the place and importance of forensic dentistry practices in the forensic sciences with extensive literature review

Adli Bilimlerde Diş Hekimliğinin Yeri

Year 2018, Volume: 9 Issue: 1, 1593 - 1600, 01.01.2018
