Evaluation of six different sealant materials in school children living in Kırıkkale districts: Preliminary Report

Year 2007, Volume: 1 Issue: 4, 5 - 9, 01.06.2007

Abstract

The present three-centered study evaluated theretention of 3 flowable resin composites used apit and fissure sealant compared with 3 conventional filled resin sealants in a child population living in rural districts of Kırıkkale region. In 101 children aged 9 to 15 years, 354sealants were applied by 3 dentists. The teethwere assessed using the following criteria:score1 - fully retained FR , score 2 - partiallylost PL , score 3 - totally lost TL and score 4 decayed D . All teeth were clinically assessedby one examiner who was blinded to thesealant materials. Data were statistically analyzed with Mann-Witney U and chi-squaretests. After 8 months, of the sealants in Admiraflow, 38% were fully retained, 28% were partially lost, 28% were totally lost, and 6% weredecayed. The corresponding values were Point4 and Grandio flow were 49, 39%; 28, 31%;18, 22% and 5, 8%, respectively. For the conventional sealants group these values were 26,21 14%; 32, 30 43%; 42, 40, 43% and 0, 9,0%, respectively. Admira flow, Fissürit F andFissürit were significantly different from theother groups x2 =19,795, p=0,001 . It may be concluded that some flowablerestorative systems Admira Flow, Point 4 veGrandio Flow yielded optimal retention as fissure sealant while conventional systems stillprovided the best results in rural districts ofKırıkkale region

Kırıkkale İline Bağlı İlçe Merkezlerinde Yaflayan Okul Çocuklarında 6 Farklı Materyalin Yüzey Örtücü Olarak Değerlendirilmesi: Ön Rapor

Year 2007, Volume: 1 Issue: 4, 5 - 9, 01.06.2007

Abstract

Admira flow’daki 60 örtücünün %38 iskor 1, %28’i skor 2, %28’i skor 3 ve % 6’sıskor 4 idi.
