19. yüzyıl, Azerbaycan'ın toplumsal ve kültürel yapısında köklü dönüşümlerin tartışılmaya başlandığı, modernleşme çabalarının hem yerel hem de küresel dinamikler tarafından şekillendiği bir dönemdir. Söz konusu dönemde Azerbaycanlı yazarlar, ülkenin modernleşmesi, bağımsızlaşması ve halkın bilinçlenmesi için önemli çabalar sarf etmişlerdir. Bu dönemde sosyal, kültürel ve siyasi değişimlerin yaşanması, yazarların düşüncelerinin ve eserlerinin toplum üzerindeki etkisini artırmıştır. Toplumun eğitimle kalkınması gerektiğini savunmuş, genç nesilleri bilinçlendirmeye yönelik eserler kaleme almışlardır. Bilimin ve aklın önemini vurgulayarak, aydınlanma düşüncelerini eserlerinde işlemiştir. Eğitimi, toplumun ilerlemesi için bir temel olarak görmüşlerdir. Bu yazarlar, modernleşmeyi yalnızca bilimsel ve eğitimsel bir dönüşüm olarak değil, aynı zamanda toplumsal ve ahlaki bir uyanış olarak da ele almışlardır. Çalışmada, 19. yüzyılda Azerbaycanlı yazarların modernleşme, bağımsızlaşma ve halkın bilinçlenmesi süreçlerine yönelik katkıları ve çabaları derinlemesine incelenerek, bu dönemdeki sosyal, kültürel ve siyasi dinamiklerin yazarların eserlerindeki yansımaları üzerinde durulması hedeflenmiştir.
The 19th century was a period in which the social and cultural structure of Azerbaijan began to be shaped by profound transformations and modernization efforts influenced by both local and global dynamics. In the 19th century, Azerbaijani writers made significant efforts for the country's modernization, independence, and the enlightenment of the people. During this period, the social, cultural, and political changes that took place enhanced the influence of their ideas and works on society. Educational reforms were among the primary goals of these writers, who advocated for the development of society through education and wrote works aimed at raising the awareness of younger generations. Intellectuals of the time emphasized the importance of science and reason, incorporating Enlightenment ideas into their works. They saw education as a fundamental basis for societal progress. These writers viewed modernization not only as a scientific and educational transformation but also as a societal and moral awakening. They promoted the idea of balancing traditional values with innovative ideas, encouraging individuals to embrace free thought. This approach was a crucial step towards the modernization of society. Themes such as education, social critique, modernization, and the reassessment of religious values were prominent in their works. These ideas laid a significant foundation for Azerbaijan’s progress and independence, serving as a source of inspiration for raising public awareness. This study aims to analyze in depth the contributions and efforts of 19th-century Azerbaijani writers towards modernization, independence, and the enlightenment of the people, while focusing on the reflections of these social, cultural, and political dynamics in their works.
