<p>This study aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the prevalence of scabies caused by Sarcoptes scabiei in Türkiye by systematically reviewing studies conducted over the past two decades, identifying associated risk factors, and informing public health strategies for the control of the disease in endemic regions. A literature search was conducted in the international PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus databases and national TR index databases using the keywords Sarcoptes scabiei and scabies. As a result of the evaluation according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, a total of 18 studies published between 2005 and 2024 were included in the systematic review and analyzed. Two major social events that took place in our country during this period contributed to an increase in the prevalence of scabies. One was the arrival of millions of refugees who had to migrate due to the Syrian civil war and the other was the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, researchers found that scabies may increase after the Kahramanmaraş earthquake which occurred in 2023 and affected many of our provinces. In conclusion, it was determined that nationwide preventive efforts are essential to mitigate the effects of epidemics and to prevent their emergence in the future.</p></trans-abstract>
